In this regard, solar panels have been installed on the roof of the factory in Rábade (Galicia) in order to store as much solar energy as possible and thus reduce electricity consumption. Thanks to the installation of these panels, the factory generates electricity for self-consumption of 21% of the total energy consumed by Rábade’s facilities. By July, this percentage will have increased, depending on the average number of hours of sunshine, until 45% of the energy consumed at the Rábade factory is generated by solar panels.
With the “paper less” policy, implemented throughout the group in 2021, Irestal has significantly reduced paper consumption and drastically reduced the number of photocopies made both at the head office and in the various European offices.
